City Of God

The opening of the film is very confusing and you will need to watch the whole film to understand.
The editing is fast and quick as the pictures are jumping and the scenes are starting and finishing very quickly.
The music being played suggests more of a happy genre but as it goes on suggests danger and sadness.
The written and spoken language is very abuseful and contains many swear words. It is also spoken very loud almost is shouting.

Iconography:

• knifes scraping suggests danger/death
• animals screatching and running also suggest danger/death
• some chickens being killed/defeatherd/ cooked suggest no care and unhygenic

Seven

The opening of the film suggests to us that it is a horror/thirller.

The written language/credits jump out at you also suggests horror.
The pictures are dull and there is no colour, they are also abnormal which suggests horror as most horror films seen abnormal.
The music used in the opening is slow but also creates a scary and creepy feeling, it is also jumpy.. The sound affects also blend in with the music.
The editing of the opening is very fast as the pictures move on and change very quickly.
The focus also changes and the pictures so blurry and then clear again.
The camera shots throughout the opening  are close up and dont show very much.
Iconography:

• cutting up of pictures suggests theres targets and hatered
• scribbling out of a face suggests again hatered and also tells us death
• the creating of a book tells us its a task and a persons life
• the razor blade and scrapping of the skin suggets danger
• the needles and sewing of the book may suggest he trying to fix things but also not in the right way it should be done

Delicatessen

The opening scenes for Delicatessen suggests that the genre is horror and/or thriller.

The editing of the film is very slow and the pictures also fade very slowly into another, it creates an effect on the genre as most horror/thriller films are usually slow and when they get to the main parts they tend to speed up.
Iconography: 

• the knifes scraping suggests to us danger and possibly death
• the man hiding in the bin also suggests that he is in danger and is trying to get away 
• the truck stopping and moving the bins also suggests danger as he is hiding in them and they are taking them away

The music/sound is slow and also lyrics or words spoken. 

The colour scheme consists of only a few colours and they are dull but also includes a bright yellow/orange light.
